For example, the all-black Playbar from 2013 still won’t look out of place today when paired up with Sonos’s newer offerings. Not to mention that the speakers are designed to be discreet and out of the way, so they don’t become the focus of your living room. Sonos has a dedicated speaker for every aspect of 5.1 surround sound, as well as a few others that you can spread out as needed. If you want a subwoofer to pair with your soundbar, it has that too. If you want a soundbar for your TV, it has that. Sonos has different forms for different functions. Sonos has a diversity of products for different uses Here’s a full list of everything Sonos is compatible with. If you’re subscribed to a music streaming service that we didn’t mention, don’t worry. Whether you’re talking about the streaming wars between the likes of Spotify and Apple Music, or the assistant wars between Siri, Alexa and Google Assistant, it doesn’t matter. So if you bought one of these all those years ago, it’s most likely still doing just fine in your living room (or wherever you set it up). For example, the Sonos Sub and Sonos Playbar which came out in 20, respectively, are still an integral part of their product line-up to this day. So Sonos makes it a point to make sure that its older speakers are kept up to date via software updates for way longer than you might expect. This isn’t possible if its products are outdated after a year or two. Sonos products aren’t cheap, and the company wants you to continue building your ecosystem by buying more and more of its speakers. The products are frequently updated for long-term compatibility Plus, combining certain speakers can get you a full 5.1 surround sound system. Whether you want to play the same song across the house, this song in that room, or different songs in different rooms, the app lets you do that. You can mix and match them throughout the house and you get full control of everything via the Sonos app. I want a repair service, not to pay £500 for a replacement speaker every 5/6 years. The more speakers you get, the more options you have regarding how you listen. Not built to last given the price tag and there is a complete lack of service that meets their customers needs/wants. I am now in the process of phasing out all my Sonos products and they have also lost some other customers (friends of mine) who won’t purchase any more after my experience. Anyone with half a brain can see the corporate greed and poor customer service here. This to me is shocking service and just a way for Sonos to stock up their ‘certified refurbished’ programme. I find it scandalous that their attitude was tough - send us it back and pay £420 +VAT and we will send you a new one. Now I don’t expect products to last forever, however I expect at £800 the product would last longer or at least Sonos would provide some sort of repair service. All of a sudden the Soundbar stopped working. I bought a Sonos Soundbar and Play 5 in December 2014. I have an echo dot linked up to a small amp and some beautiful wharfdale speakers in my living room and that system cost half the price, sounds 4X better and has no issues. I will never buy a Sonos product or system again. Whoever is in charge of your bug fixing / ux experience needs firing. It's been 2 years and no improvements have been made, and yet they still they find money to release new products. It just stops working every day and it takes hours of faffing to get it working again with no obvious reason why it stopped and no obvious reason why it started again. The hours I have wasted trying to get it to reconnect when I just want to listen to some music is literally mind-boggling. I'm a tech professional and if I'm unable to get it working, I doubt folks not in tech would manage it. Alexa was limited from the start but I have been unable to get it to work for years. The speaker itself is fine (pretty good sound) but that's about where my compliments end. I paid out for the Sonos One with Alexa a few years ago and it is the biggest waste of money I have ever spent.
